No Hype Time Management
Time management is my passion. Productivity is my paradise.I know you think it's unbelievable, but you will understand as you keep reading. I enjoy creating systems and sharing information (part of my personality type) and that benefits you! There is no hype here, I'm just sharing my research and ideas with you in hopes that it helps you on your journey. You may argue that we should abandon trying to manage ourselves and instead focus on our family or inner selves. Without clear priorities, you will end up looking back at your life and wishing you’d spent it differently. Mark Twain wrote, "you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do…" I have a feeling you are not as passionate about time management as I am and may even be struggling to learn time management or with concerns about how to get things done. You want that "on-top-of-the-world" feeling again, you know, the one you had when you finished that large project you weren't looking forward to. You want to feel in control, happier and organized. The good news is, you've been there before... you know what I'm talking about. You will be there again, only this time you will know what created that feeling and how to keep it smoldering just under the surface of everything you do.
You Can Do It!It's a subject everyone must deal with; the importance of time management cannot be overstated. Procrastination, overwhelm, and getting bogged down in ordinary life all reflect personal productivity skills. Do you think about work at home and home at work? Live with a sense that you are forgetting something important but can't quite figure out what it is? Do you have moments when you have so many things to do If your skills are not up to par, examine your actions. If I were to look at your behavior as an outsider, wouldn't you agree that you pile on to your to-do list without fitting it in to what you're trying to accomplish in your short time on the planet?
Thought Process and Time Management - Big ConnectionPeople generally have one of two trains of thought on the meaning of time management. There's strategic thinking or shortcut thinking. Here's the thing, shortcut thinkers end up frustrated and drowning in a sea of uncontrollable to-dos. Successful and relaxed people think strategically. Shortcut thinkers ask themselves, "what's the easiest thing I can get done right now?" Getting things done is efficient, but not effective unless you're doing the right things. Shortcut thinkers look for a magic wand to get a two-hour project done in 30 minutes. Be realistic. Strategic thinkers have a clear vision of what they want life to look like, a realistic sense of how long it will take to get there and prioritize their activities to get the right things done.
